  2. In the VLC open the "Media" menu and select "Convert / Save". This will open the conversion tool.

  4. Click on the Convert / Save button to begin the process.
  5. In "Profile" section select  "Audio - MP3" from the drop-down menu.
  6. Click on the Browse button and name and save your file. Make sure to save it to a place you can easily find. To start converting the file, click the Start button.
  7. Wait for the conversion to end. VLC will essentially run through the entire video so the conversion process will take approximately as much as the original video. 


Using Avidemux for video files

Download and install Avidemux Video Editor. Avidemax is an independent, open-source editor that can remove audio track from your video file and convert it to MP3. You can download Avidemux from Fixounet.free.fr/avidemux/download.html.
1]Open the video file in Avidemux. Click on the Open button at the top of the window, or click on the "File" menu and select "Open". Browse your computer for the video file that you want to convert to MP3.
  • If you are trying to convert a streaming YouTube video to MP3, then download it first to Firefox using DownloadHelper extension or Keepvid.com on your computer.
